The Challenge

  • Create a WOW set to bring to life a range of Nintendo Wii and DS games
  • Generate excitement and positive WOM
  • Allow a minimum of 20,000 people to trial Nintendo products
  • Promote Wii Sports Resort as a game the whole family can enjoy
  • Increase awareness and drive trial among new audiences

The Solution

  • Implemented a national (and NZ) roadshow throughout high footfall shopping centres
  • Re-created 'Wuhu Island' bringing Wii Sports Resort to life via a highly creative and visually striking set
  • Different zones within set for each title:
    1. Adventure Bay - Wii Sports Resort
    2. Sanctuary Cove - Wii / Nintendo DSi zone with wellness retreat for adults
    3. Fantasy Beach - Pokemon Platinum
  • Brand ambassadors themed as resort staff encouraged consumers into the zone
  • Consumers took part in Wii Sports Resort challenges to WIN prizes and giveaways
  • Adults trialling intendo DSi enjoyed a complimentary massage
  • Pokemon fans brought their own Nintendo DSi's to download the 'Secret Key' into their game and unlock the secrets!

The Outcome

  • 18 days of activity throughout VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, WA and NZ
  • Over 38,000 unique brand interactions achieved
  • Generated 'buzz' and increased positive WOM
  • Reached new Nintendo audiences including grandparents, young couples and families
